Foodie's is a full service market located on West Broadway at the corner of C street. We are pleased to be a part of South Boston and to serve high quality produce, meats, seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, specialty products and grocery staples for gourmet and everyday in our new neighborhood. We are family owned and active members in our community.
David Healy, Store Manager and Front End Manager, Jenn Wright are dedicated to customer service. If you have a product suggestion please let David or Jenn know, or put a suggestion in the suggestion box located in the front of the store.
Produce
Produce Manager, Vincent in the produce department. Foodie's produce is delivered daily and is always the freshest! We have a large organic section and also squeeze our own fresh orange juice daily, along with to-go fruit cups, ready-made Greek and garden salads. Fruit and veggie platters are available (24 hours notice please).
Prepared Foods and Deli
Foodie's prepared foods department cooks up lunch, dinner and inbetween from gourmet to comfort
foods. We are known for our over-sized sandwiches made with Boar's Head cold cuts. For lighter fare, choose our salad bar and self-serve soups. We have rotisserie chickens and take out dinner plates. Meat
Meet our meat guys - Orlando, Eric and Raoul (seen above with mayor Menino). Foodie's meat department is run like a traditional butcher shop. We prepare our meats fresh daily and grind our meat in store every day. We carry organic Smart Chicken®, all natural Bell & Evans® chicken and all natural Certified Angus Beef® with no hormones or antibiotics. Soon we will be introducing grass fed beef.
Custom cuts and orders are our specialty!
Seafood
Freshly packaged daily, our seafood section is getting great reviews from South Boston customers!
Cheese and Specialty Products
Foodie's cheese department offers a wonderful selection of fine imported and locally produced cheeses which are mostly hand picked and cut in store. We also have an International olive collection, gourmet crackers, spreads, pates, salami, chorizo, smoked fish and antipasto platter items.
Grocery
Basic or fancy, at Foodie's we stock diversity. In our grocery department we carry Shurfine® brand for those who wish to economize as well as a large selection of hard-to-find highest quality artisan foods. We have a large selection of local vendors from the New England area along with many gluten free products - flours, baking mixes, cereals, cookies, crackers, soups and more! You'll find organic, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free and salt-free foods along with energy drinks and bars...and you can still buy a bar of soap, bologna, potato chips, milk, and all the everyday essentials.
As we work to refine our product mix for your neighborhood please ask David Healy or put a suggestion in the suggestion box at the front of the store if there is a product you would like, if we don't have room to stock it permanently we can always special order it for you.
Grand Opening February 23, 2013
Thank you to Mayor Menino for coming to cut the ribbon at the grand opening ceremony of our South Boston store, Saturday, February 23. Mayor Menino has been a big supporter of family owned businesses like Foodie's in Boston. We were also helped by a loan from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. .
